Big data? Of course! Inaugural speech Gerard Schouten

On Thursday 1 December, Gerard Schouten held his inaugural speech for his new position as the leader of research group Big Data, called: Big Data? Of course! In his speech he elaborated on how big data is becoming an ever more self-evident aspect of our society. Before the speech, various other lecturers pointed out the necessity of Big Data in the Netherlands, Eindhoven and the Brainport Region. Ruben Smit, who is a nature photographer and cameraman was the special lecturer. He held a lecture on his nature photography, which fit in well with Gerard’s passion for photography.
