1200 students in the Klokgebouw during the Weird Week 2016
Purpose of the Weird Week
The Weird Week is being organised to challenge students and to let them discover their talents by taking them out of their comfort zone and by creating new insights and solutions. To this end, the campus of Fontys Hogeschool ICT is being substituted for the inspiring environment of the Klokgebouw.
"Exploring your creativity and talents within a challenging environment, that is the Weird Week!"
Main assignment: virtual and physical
First, second, third and fourth year students work together in interdisciplinary teams, on a main assignment that consists of two components: virtual and physical. The virtual part is the translation of a minute into an own adaptation. Based on the film The Matrix, students will study the question of what is reality and what is not.
Inspiring guest speakers
Each day of the Weird Week starts off with an inspiring guest lecture by very diverse prominent lecturers such as Paul Smit, Ad Verbrugge, Jozef van Eenbergen and Steye van Dam.
Final expositions on Friday 19 February 2016
On Friday 19 February there are two final expositions in the Klokgebouw. The first final exposition is the physical exposition. Everybody is welcome between 14:00 and 17:00 o'clock. During this exposition students present their study, the work made, their experiments and their findings. Entrance is free.
From 20:00 to 22:00 the second exposition takes place. For this occasion, the Klokgebouw will be transformed into a real cinema. All virtual minutes will be screened as part of one film that shows what The Un-Matrix is.
