OER World Congress
On 18-20 September the second OER World Congress was held in Ljubljana (Slovenia), organised by UNESCO. At this congress an action plan was finalised and approved for the increased sharing and use of open learning material. The plan includes 42 recommendations to remove the barriers that often exist. Authorities and educational institutions worldwide are called on to implement these recommendations. At this congress, Robert Schuwer (lector OER and holder of an UNESCO Chair on OER) gave three presentations. Among others, the first results were presented of a study that was carried out by his lectureship for UNESCO from June-August on the use of open learning material in vocational training. More information can be read on a blog.
