Thursday 12 November was the online 'Kick-off Fontys AI Community'. This Fontys-wide event, organised by team M&C and employees of FHICT, was streamed live from R10, making good use of our new Video lab. After a plenary session with Gerard Schouten, Carlo van de Weijer and Joep Houterman and their vision on AI in relation to society, future and Fontys, four breakout sessions followed.
These were led by Ad Vissers (Our AI Strategy), Renate van Oosten (AI & Human Capital), Gerard Schouten (AI & Research) and Tim van Leeuwerden (AI & Education). Over 80 participants were divided into brainstorming sessions on these topics.
Finally, the findings were summarised by presenter Rens van der Vorst: AI is a technology that has been around for a long time and that everyone has to deal with. For Fontys, it is important to include this fact in all courses.
