Innovations Insight
Thursday 22 June was Innovations Insight. Students presented the projects they worked on in the Fontys ICT InnovationLab last semester. This time the prizes, in the form of the SPARC 'Innovation Lighting cup' went to three notable projects: 'from sensors to care', 'Learning English with AI' and the third project explored ways to help people cope better with intense noise (harmful) with a smartwatch application. Visit by mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem
What makes this edition extra special is that Mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem was present for a tour and to get a taste of what all these unique collaborations produce. The impressions were positive: "Very positive! I spoke to students who are really working in practice. Close to businesses or local residents, looking for practical solutions and innovations." HBO-i Event
Also on this day, the HBO-i event took place in our InnovationLab. Twice a year, HBO-i organises a networking event at a university of applied sciences in the Netherlands. This time, we opened our doors to college lecturers to take a look behind the scenes of our innovative incubator. The day was all about networking and learning from each other.
As many as 75 college lecturers gathered in the stands. After a short presentation about our study programme by Frens and an explanation of the InnovationLab by Suzanne, the lecturers dispersed to attend various workshops. They were inspired by our colleagues on various themes, including, among others: the partner policy, ambition themes, Student+ and the growth fund project. After a delicious lunch, the guests were invited to visit our students' projects during Innovations Insight. It was a valuable day for the visitors, who returned home at the end of the day full of new ideas. Read here the article HBO-i wrote about the event (only Dutch)
