During the international conclusion of the EU region project Digital Twin Academy, the learning module Strawberry Fields developed by Fontys ICT was presented as a best practice. The module was developed in collaboration with Fontys Engineering and Fontys Greentechlab with the aim of introducing senior secondary vocational students to the world of digital twinning. The module takes students step-by-step through the process of digitising a strawberry plant using a simple sensor and their own camera. Topics like data capturing, data cleaning, data visualisation, VR, AR and ML are covered in an accessible way using only one scripting language (JS). In the end, the student builds a dashboard connected to a central server that can be used to build a large dataset for further research in the future.
